Co pro Vás znamená úspěch? // What does success mean to you?
Ačkoliv jsou různé sociálně akceptované definice úspěchu, každý by se měl zamyslet nad tím, co to pro něj osobně znamená. Je to totiž velmi osobní věc a společně se spokojeností, by nám ji neměl někdo diktovat.
Co pro Vás znamená úspěch?
Úspěch se často měří v počtu nul na účtě, majetkem, hodinách produktivity, podepsaných smluv, získaných klientů nebo uznáním od druhých. Může to být část úspěchu, samozřejmě, ale udělá vás jenom tahle část šťastnými? Tuhle část úspěchu často pohání výkon a stres.
Představte si, že bychom měřili úspěch podle toho, jestli se cítíme bezpečně a přítomně. Kolik lidí by asi tak mohlo říct, že je opravdu úspěšných.

A na závěr moje oblíbená (ne osobní, ale blízká) definice úspěchu:
„Hodně a často se smát, získat uznání inteligentních lidí a náklonnost dětí, vysloužit si pochvalu od upřímných kritiků a snést zradu falešných přátel, ocenit krásu, nacházet na druhých to nejlepší. Učinit svět o trochu lepším, ať už zdravým dítětem, kouskem zeleně či zlepšenými sociálními podmínkami. Vědět, že aspoň jednomu člověku se vaším přičiněním dýchalo snáze. To vše znamená dosáhnout úspěchu.“

Although there are different socially accepted definitions of success, everyone should think about what it means to them personally. It is a very personal thing and, along with happiness, should not be dictated to us.
What does success mean to you?
Success is often measured in the number of zeros in your account, assets, hours of productivity, contracts signed, clients won, or recognition from others. It may be part of success, of course, but does that part alone make you happy? This part of success is often driven by performance and stress.
Imagine if we measured success by feeling safe and present. I wonder how many people could say they're truly successful.

To the end, my favorite (not personal, but close enough) definition of success:
“To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To give of one's self; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - This is to have succeeded.”
